ICMR – Patent Mitra Initiative
Awareness & Hands-on Workshop
Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC), in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical
Research (ICMR), is organising an offline hands-on workshop on the ICMR Patent Mitra
Initiative.
This session aims to create awareness and provide guidance on patent facilitation and tech transfer for medical innovations.
About the Initiative
ICMR Patent Mitra is a national initiative by the Indian Council of Medical Research
(ICMR) aimed at strengthening the intellectual property ecosystem in the medical, dental,
allied health, and life sciences research community. Operating under the guidance of NITI
Aayog, in partnership with the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) and supported by
DPIIT, Government of India
Under this initiative, BBC will serve as the key enabler across Karnataka, supporting
innovators in accessing patent awareness, guidance, and facilitation support.
The program provides free support to innovators for understanding patent processes and
protecting their medical innovations.
